Laugh Loft is Calgary’s newest curated Sunday night stand-up comedy show!

Featuring professional comedy acts with TV quality stand-up comedy material and an enforced code of conduct against hate-speech. Laugh Loft is femme-centered and femme-curated. This weekly stand-up comedy show is edgy yet affirming, shocking but not scarring.
Laugh Loft brings the fresh fun feel of a hip LA Alternative comedy show right to the heart of Inglewood in beautiful downtown Calgary.
Sundays at 8PM

Runs til 9:30 so you can be home & in bed by 10pm.

This show is curated by Calgary comedian Victoria Banner and drag queen Karla Marx.

Victoria Banner is a comic with an extensive resume of curating exclusive, notably different comedy shows. Victoria has a passion for the rules and rhythms of traditional club style stand-up comedy. Ever the explorer Victoria has a continual commitment to workshopping new stand-up comedy material at home and on the road. Her comedy has been featured at The World Series of Comedy, Cleveland Comedy Festival, Okanagan Comedy Festival, Tall Tree Music Festival and at comedy clubs across the country.
Karla Marx is a comedian, host, burlesque performer, and drag queen focused on creating fun, innovative, inclusive events in Calgary. With the eye of the tiger and the mouth of a teamster, Karla has been producing shows with Cabaret Calgary for 4 years. Recently Karla was on of 8 comedian selected to tape a half hour TV streaming comedy special in Vancouver BC at the historic Firehall Arts Center.
The laugh loft is located in Inglewood’s The Attic above Vegan Street.  A delightfully atmospheric restaurant and stage with some of Inglewood’s hottest programming. Laugh Loft is a feel good date night, with the approachability of a local comedy show and the excellence of a downtown event. The event takes place on traditional territories of the Treaty 7 Nations in Southern Alberta, and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. We also acknowledge the venue has stairs that limit the participation of disabled community members. We will be launching a schedule of accessible shows so disabled persons can plan to enjoy a night at Laugh Loft.
We feature cutting edge alternative comics who are not frequently seen touting longform stand-up sets in YYC. Combing talent and equity using our vast networks and total immersion in the western Canada performing arts scene, we intend to cultivate an atmosphere to help support Queer/Femme/BIPOC comics. Supportive audience members in the crowd at Laugh Loft help our equitably selected comics tape festival submissions, record albums and write longer TV-ready jokes. Laugh Loft is an elite feeder program to a comic’s next step in their comedy career.
